Why Did Andrew Tate Get Banned? What Led to His Controversial Banishment?

Why Did Andrew Tate Get Banned? Andrew Tate has been blocked on Facebook and Instagram. The former kickboxer and contentious influencer was taken down by Meta, the company that owns the two social media platforms, on Friday, BBC News reported.

Why Did Andrew Tate Get Banned?

After facing misogynistic allegations, internet celebrity and former kickboxer Andrew Tate was banned from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. He has since spoken out.

Tate, 35, was taken off both platforms because he was violating Meta’s policies on dangerous organizations and individuals, according to Meta.

Tate seemed to be saying that women “belong” to their male partners and that they should “stay at home” in videos that were first posted to YouTube.

In reaction to the #MeToo movement’s growth, he allegedly said that victims of sexual assault should “bear some responsibility,” which led to his ban from Twitter in 2017.

According to the BBC, the former professional kickboxer had 4.7 million followers on Instagram before the ban. In addition to his widespread following on social media, Tate has accumulated over 100,000 subscribers on his website, “Hustler’s University.”

Tate talks about how he thinks other creators have edited his videos out of context to increase their views in a video that was posted on Vimeo on Wednesday.

Tate says that although he rejects the accusations, he still has “some responsibility to bear.”

What is Hustler’s University?

Tate came up with a novel strategy game for the social media environment today. Tate’s online self-help course on wealth creation, Hustler’s University, was how that was accomplished.

On its website, it states that for £39 ($45) a month, users can access 12 “multimillionaire experts in their selected field.” The course covers copywriting, stocks, cryptocurrency, e-commerce, and freelancing.

Hustler’s University’s “affiliate marketing” campaign is partially responsible for Tate’s social media presence. More eyes on polarizing videos translates into more referrals for Hustler’s University “students.”

Hustler’s University actively encourages its users to share offensive content on TikTok and other social media, and its members receive a 48% commission for each person they refer.

Some disagree with the decision to ban Tate from social media.

Notably among them is social media star-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul, who expressed disapproval of what he perceived to be social media censorship even as he denounced Tate’s offensive sexism.

What Led to Andrew Tate’s Arrest?

In the course of an investigation into rape and human trafficking, Andrew Tate was taken into custody in Romania.

The BBC confirmed that Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested in Bucharest in December 2022.

Prosecutors have stated that Tate was detained on suspicion of rape, human trafficking, and organizing a criminal organization.

The former kickboxing world champion and self-described “king of toxic masculinity” gained notoriety on social media for his divisive opinions.

Final Thoughts

It may take some time for his stronghold on social media to weaken because some ardent fans are posting his videos despite the challenges of resolving the ban on his content.

But Tate’s chances of ever getting back on a platform that would be secure and unharmful to other users are very slim, regardless of how long he is banned from these platforms.
